Thankfully during this challenging period of healthy debate on climate change there has emerged a clear interest and subsequent benefit in green renovations. In July 2009 the NSW Government amended the Electricity Act (1995) encouraging the advent of new energy savings opportunities; to give birth to a greener, more sustainable and cost effective business community. Now more than ever showing a responsible attitude towards energy efficient solutions actually has a return on investment.

The aim of the Energy Savings Scheme of 2009 was to increase the uptake of approved energy efficient technologies by creating a healthy financial incentive that would encourage businesses to actively seek to reduce their consumption of electricity.

StarEnergy Australia has been accredited by IPART under the NSW Energy Saving Scheme. Our ‘RESA’ (Recognised Energy Savings Activity) enables us to create ESCs (Energy Saving Certificates) by replacing existing energy intensive lighting equipment with energy efficient lighting equipment at commercial and industrial sites in NSW. StarEnergy Australia is able to apply the value of the ESC’s against the capital and installation cost of the energy efficient lights. This can reduce these costs by more than 75% thereby dramatically improving the return on investment for businesses.

Engaging with b-efficient has delivered the majority of its clients a minimum saving of 50% off the lighting component of their electricity bill. Be quick... The value of ESC changes based on market movements. The more businesses that upgrade their lighting the lower the ESC market price. Businesses that act first will enjoy the greatest savings.
